Jonathan Elliott

Jonathan Elliot (1784–1846) was an English-American printer, newspaper editor, and publisher known for compiling historical documents, including the Diplomatic Code of the United States of America and Historical Sketches of the Ten Miles Square Forming the District of Columbia. Born near Carlisle, England, he immigrated to New York City in 1802, worked as a printer, served as a volunteer in the Colombian War of Independence, and briefly in the War of 1812.[2]
