Jonathan D. Bellman

Jonathan D. Bellman (born 1957) is a musicologist and pianist, Professor Emeritus of Music History and Literature and former Head of Academic Studies in Music at the University of Northern Colorado.[1][3][5] He is renowned for his research on exoticism in music, particularly the 'Style hongrois' in Western European music, Chopin's Polish Ballade, and the influence of Hungarian Romani musicians on composers like Schubert, Liszt, and Brahms.[1][3] His notable books include *The 'Style hongrois' in the Music of Western Europe* (1993) and co-editor of *Chopin and His World* (2017).[1][3][6]
