John Strype
John Strype (1643–1737) was an English clergyman, historian, and biographer born in Houndsditch, London, to a Flemish silk merchant father. A Cambridge graduate, he was ordained in 1666, served as curate in Theydon Bois and Low Leyton, Essex, and spent decades collecting Tudor-era documents for his works. He is renowned for the Annals of the Reformation and biographies of figures like Thomas Cranmer, Edmund Grindal, and John Whitgift.[1][2][3]
