John Seigenthaler
John Lawrence Seigenthaler (July 27, 1927 – July 11, 2014) was an American journalist, writer, and political figure known as an avid supporter of First Amendment rights[5][6]. He served as editor, publisher, and chairman of The Tennessean, was the founding editorial director of USA Today, and authored books including 'A Search for Justice' and 'The Year Called Watergate'[1][4]. Seigenthaler founded The First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University in 1991 to promote national dialogue on First Amendment values[4].
