John ROTHENSTEIN

Sir John Rothenstein was a prominent British art historian and museum director, best known for his long tenure as director of the Tate Gallery from 1938 to 1964. He wrote extensively on modern art and authored several influential books on artists, including works on William Blak and Wyndham Lewis.
