John Romeyn Brodhead
John Romeyn Brodhead (1814–1873) was an American historical scholar who specialized in colonial American history, particularly the Dutch colonial period in New York. During his service in the diplomatic corps, he transcribed approximately eighty manuscript volumes of rare documents from European archives in England, France, and the Netherlands, which formed the basis for his scholarly publications on New York's colonial history.
