John Rennie Short

John Rennie Short is a professor emeritus of geography and public policy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), specializing in urban issues, environmental concerns, geopolitics, and the history of cartography.[1][2][3] Born in Stirling, Scotland, and raised in Tullibody, he earned his MA from the University of Aberdeen and PhD from the University of Bristol, taught at institutions including the University of Reading and Syracuse University, and has authored 60 books translated into numerous languages.[1][2][4] He resides in Washington DC and maintains an active presence as a speaker and author.[4]
