John R. Riggs

John R. Riggs, born John Raymond Riggs on February 27, 1945, in Beech Grove, Indiana, is an American author known for the Garth Ryland mystery series featuring a small-town editor and reporter. He has lived in Putnam County, Indiana since 1971, working as a teacher, football coach, carpenter, and researcher for the DePauw University Archives while authoring 13 books in his mystery series. His works also include memoirs and a coming-of-age novel set along the Wabash River in the 1950s.
