John P. Broomfield

Dr. John P. Broomfield is a consulting corrosion engineer specializing in corrosion of steel in concrete, early 20th century steel frame buildings, and durability issues for built infrastructure. He authored the book 'Corrosion of Steel in Concrete' and has led pioneering work in impressed current cathodic protection systems on reinforced concrete structures worldwide, from the UK and Hong Kong to Australia and beyond. Broomfield has chaired key standards committees, including those revising BS EN 12696 and developing NACE and CEN standards on electrochemical realkalization and chloride extraction.[2][3][4]
