John Oldale

John Oldale is a scientist by training, explorer by passion, and author known for books like 'A World of Curiosities' and 'Who or Why or Which or What?', compendiums of surprising facts from around the world. He speaks five languages, has traveled over half a million miles visiting more than ninety nations, outrun knife-wielding brigands twice, and been rescued from a sub-Antarctic ordeal. After working in Ottawa and Africa with an international development NGO, he pursued an MBA at UVic in 1994.
