John Nettles

John Vivian Drummond Nettles is an English actor, author, and historian best known for his starring roles as detectives in the crime drama television series Bergerac (1981–1991) and Midsomer Murders (1997–2011). Beyond his acting career, he has narrated numerous television documentaries and written several books, including works about the German occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II.
