John Moynihan
John Moynihan was an American author born in Syracuse, New York, who lived in India for two years during middle school and later chronicled his coming-of-age adventure at sea as a 20-year-old merchant marine aboard the Rose City in his senior thesis at Wesleyan University, class of 1982. The work, detailing a four-month global voyage originally planned for 45 days, was posthumously published in 2011 as *The Voyage of the Rose City: An Adventure at Sea* after his death in his early forties from a reaction to acetaminophen.[2][3][5][7]
