John Mordechai Gottman
John Mordechai Gottman is an American psychologist renowned for his pioneering research on marital stability and divorce prediction, achieving over 90% accuracy through analysis of couples' interactions and micro-expressions.[1][2] Born in 1942 in the Dominican Republic to Orthodox Jewish parents and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and became Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, where he founded the 'Love Lab'.[1][2][4] With his wife Julie Schwartz Gottman, he co-founded the Gottman Institute and has authored over 50 books and 200 scholarly articles on relationships.[2][4]
