John Masters

John Masters was a British army officer and novelist best known for historical fiction set in colonial India, especially works such as *Bhowani Junction* and *Nightrunners of Bengal*. Born in Calcutta in 1914, he served in World War II before moving to the United States, where he became a bestselling author and also wrote acclaimed autobiographical works.[1][2][3]
