John Major Jenkins

John Major Jenkins (1964–2017) was an American author and independent researcher best known for writings on Maya cosmology, astronomical alignments, and 2012 millenarianism. He played a prominent role in popularizing the idea that the Maya calendar’s end date of 21 December 2012 signaled major changes, and he taught at venues including the Institute of Maya Studies and the Esalen Institute.
