John Jellico

John Rushworth Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe (1859–1935) was a British Royal Navy officer who commanded the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland in 1916 during World War I, securing a strategic victory that maintained British naval supremacy. A protégé of Admiral John Fisher, he specialized in gunnery, contributed to the design of HMS Dreadnought, served as Director of Naval Ordnance, and later became First Sea Lord from 1916 to 1917.[1][2][3]
