John Hyde Braly
John Hyde Braly was an early settler to the Gold Country of Northern California, who worked as a teacher in the Santa Clara Valley before migrating to Los Angeles in 1891, where he became a banker and led a syndicate that built the Braly Building, the tallest office tower in the city from 1902 to 1907.[3] He authored the autobiography *Memory Pictures* in 1912, detailing his pioneer experiences, overland journeys, and life in California.[1][5] Braly died in 1923 and is buried in Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, California.[4]
