John Hooker

John Williamson Hooker (1932–2008) was a New Zealand-born Australian novelist and publisher. He was born in Auckland, worked in publishing in Australia before turning to full-time writing in 1985, and is known for novels such as The Bush Soldiers and Standing Orders.
