John Himmelman

John Himmelman is an American author, illustrator, and naturalist born in 1959 in Kittery, Maine, who graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a B.F.A. in 1981 and has written and illustrated over sixty books primarily for children, along with some adult non-fiction on natural history topics.[1][2][3] He has been active as a writer and illustrator since 1981, served on various environmental boards including as co-founder and vice president of the Connecticut Butterfly Association, and leads nature programs and presentations across the country while living in Killingworth, Connecticut.[1][3]
