John H (John Henry) 1863-1 Robinson
John H. Robinson (1846–1883) was an Irish immigrant who settled in Boston, Massachusetts, and enlisted as a private in Company I, 19th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War. On July 3, 1863, during the Battle of Gettysburg, he captured the flag of the 57th Virginia Infantry (C.S.A.) while repulsing Pickett's Charge, earning the Medal of Honor on December 1, 1864. He died in Boston on November 30, 1883, and was buried in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, Massachusetts.[1][2]
