John Gottman PhD

John Mordechai Gottman, born in 1942 in the Dominican Republic to Orthodox Jewish parents and raised in Brooklyn, New York, is a renowned psychologist and Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, where he founded the 'Love Lab' to study couple interactions.[1][2][3] He earned a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1971 and co-founded the Gottman Institute with his wife, Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman, conducting decades of research on marital stability and divorce prediction, authoring over 200 articles and 40 books including The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work.[4][5][6]
