John G Galaty
John G. Galaty is a Full Professor in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University, affiliated with the Centre for Society, Technology and Development, the Bieler School of Environment, and the African Studies Program.[1][2][4] His research expertise encompasses culture and semiotics in eastern Africa, ethnicity and identity, legal anthropology, property and land tenure, pastoralism, rangeland development, social conflict, and wildlife conservation.[1] He has conducted extensive fieldwork, including studies in Kenya, and has published widely on African human-animal identities and pastoral societies.[3][4]
