John Flavel

John Flavel (c. 1627–1691) was an English Puritan Presbyterian minister and author, born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, son of minister Richard Flavel. He served in Diptford and Dartmouth, Devon, was ejected in 1662 for nonconformity during the Great Ejection, and continued preaching secretly before returning under licenses. Known for practical writings on providence and Christ, he died suddenly of a stroke in Exeter in 1691.[1][2][5]
