John F. Wilson and Carroll C. Arnold

John F. Wilson and Carroll C. Arnold were collaborators on the influential textbook *Public Speaking as a Liberal Art*, with multiple editions published starting in 1968.[1][2][5] Carroll C. Arnold was a Professor Emeritus at The Pennsylvania State University, trained under A. Craig Baird at the University of Iowa, and authored works such as *Criticism of Oral Rhetoric* while co-editing *The Handbook of Rhetorical and Communication Theory*; the National Communication Association named a distinguished lecture after him in 1994.[2] Arnold died in January 1997, while limited details are available on Wilson's personal background beyond his academic contributions to rhetoric and public speaking.[2]
