John Elfreth Watkins Jr. (1875-1946) was an American journalist and magazine writer known for his contributions on popular science topics to leading Sunday papers and magazines.[2][3] He gained fame for his remarkably accurate predictions about future technologies in 1900, including ready-cooked meals delivered to homes and live television broadcasts of world events.[6][7]
