John Darnton
John Darnton (born November 20, 1941) is an acclaimed American journalist who worked for The New York Times for over 40 years as a reporter, editor, and foreign correspondent, earning two George Polk Awards and the 1982 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting on Poland under martial law. A psychology major from the University of Wisconsin, he began at the Times as a copyboy in 1966, covering major stories in New York, Africa, Eastern Europe, and beyond. He is also a bestselling novelist known for scientific and medical thrillers such as Neanderthal and The Darwin Conspiracy.
