John D. Hargreaves

John Desmond Hargreaves (1924–2015) was a prominent British historian and the Burnett-Fletcher Professor of History at the University of Aberdeen, where he began as a lecturer in 1954 and received his chair in 1962.[1][4] He was renowned for his scholarly work on African history, particularly its colonisation and decolonisation, authoring key books such as 'Decolonization in Africa' and 'West Africa Partitioned'.[1][6][7]
