John Cummins

John Michael Cummings is an American short story writer and novelist whose work has appeared in over seventy-five literary journals including The Kenyon Review and The Iowa Review. His debut novel, The Night I Freed John Brown (2008), won The Paterson Prize for Books for Young People and was selected for Black History Month by USA Today. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Central Florida.
