John Couchois Wright

John Couchois Wright (born John C. Couchois) was a Michigan author and poet known for his works on Native American legends and the history of the Little Traverse Bay region. He established and edited the Harbor Springs newspaper The Standard in 1896, wrote lyrical verse, and originated the slogan 'Michigan, the Playground of the Nation.' Of science fiction interest is his Lost Race tale The Great Myth (1922) about the Mound People.[1][2]
