John Cannell MD
Dr. John Cannell, MD, is an American psychiatrist, public health advocate, and founder of the Vitamin D Council, renowned for his influential and sometimes controversial research linking vitamin D deficiency to conditions such as influenza seasonality, autism, and other childhood diseases. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Zoology in 1972 and earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976. His work spans public health, psychiatry, education reform, and vitamin D research for humans and animals.
