John Burns

John Horne Burns (1916-1953) was an American novelist best known for his acclaimed World War II novel 'The Gallery', which depicted the experiences of soldiers in Naples. His second novel, 'Lucifer with Persistence', was published in 1949 but lacked the critical success of his debut. He died young in 1953, leaving a modest but notable literary legacy.
