John Baugh

John Gordon Baugh V is an American linguist specializing in sociolinguistics, forensic linguistics, education, and African American language studies, best known for developing the theory of linguistic profiling.[1] He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania (1979) and has held prominent positions including Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and Washington University in St. Louis, and currently serves as the Barbara Jordan Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at Rice University.[1][3] Baugh is a past president of the Linguistic Society of America, a fellow of several prestigious organizations, and author of twelve books on language and discrimination.[1][3]
