John BASCOM

John Bascom (1827–1911) was an American educator, professor of rhetoric at Williams College, and president of the University of Wisconsin from 1874 to 1887. He was a prolific philosophical writer and author of numerous works on aesthetics, ethics, religion, and sociology, including 'Science, Philosophy and Religion' and 'Evolution and Religion'.
