John B. Anderson
John Bayard Anderson (1922–2017) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a U.S. Representative for Illinois's 16th district from 1961 to 1981, initially as a Republican and later as Chairman of the House Republican Conference. In 1980, he ran an independent presidential campaign, receiving about 7% of the popular vote. After politics, he advocated for electoral reform as chair of FairVote and taught law at Nova Southeastern University.
