John Arthur Ransome Marriott

Sir John Arthur Ransome Marriott (1859–1945) was a British educationist, historian, and Conservative politician who taught modern history at the University of Oxford from 1884 to 1920, serving as a fellow, lecturer, and tutor at Worcester College.[1][3] He represented Oxford as MP from 1917 to 1922 and York from 1923 to 1929, authoring over forty books on historical and political subjects.[1][3]
