Joaquin Miller
Joaquin Miller, born Cincinnatus Heine Miller, was an American poet, journalist, and frontiersman known for capturing the majesty of the Old West in his work. His poetry, including the acclaimed 'Songs of the Sierras' (1871), gained international fame in England despite initial derision in the U.S. for its romanticism; he lived an adventurous life, moving from Indiana to Oregon and California, working as a miner, judge, and editor.
