Joanne K Rowling
Joanne Rowling, better known by her pen name J.K. Rowling, is a British author born on July 31, 1965, in Yate, Gloucestershire, England, best known for creating the seven-book Harry Potter series about a young wizard. After studying French and Classics at the University of Exeter, she worked various jobs including at Amnesty International, conceived the Harry Potter idea in 1990, and wrote the first book while facing personal hardships as a single mother in Edinburgh. Her works also include adult novels like The Casual Vacancy and the crime series under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
