Joanna Bourke
Joanna Bourke is a British historian and academic, Professor Emerita of History at Birkbeck, University of London, and a Fellow of the British Academy. She is the prize-winning author of fifteen books focusing on cultural and social history, including topics such as modern warfare, the emotions, pain, sexual violence, and what it means to be human.
