Joan Steiner (Artist)

Joan Steiner is a Hungarian-American author and illustrator of children's books known for creating intricate miniature dioramas called Look-Alikes®.[1][2] She constructs these three-dimensional trompe l'oeil scenes from everyday objects and edible treats, which are then photographed for her books and exhibited in museums.[2][3] Beginning her freelance illustration career in 1978, she has also worked as a writer since 1995 and has been a guest lecturer at Syracuse University.[1]
