Joan Schenkar

Joan Schenkar (1942–2021) was a New York Times-acclaimed playwright and biographer best known for her deep-dive biographies, including "The Talented Miss Highsmith" about Patricia Highsmith.[1][2] She was a Lambda Literary Award winner, Edgar Award nominee, and founder of Force Majeure Productions in New York, leaving behind several plays and books of lasting merit.[2][3][4]
