Joan D. Chittister

Joan D. Chittister is a Benedictine nun, influential religious and social leader, and bestselling author of over 60 books on spirituality, peace, human rights, women's issues, and church renewal.[1][2] She served as prioress of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, Pennsylvania for 12 years, president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, and president of the Conference of American Benedictine Prioresses.[1] She holds a doctorate in communications from Penn State University and directs Benetvision and Monasteries of the Heart.[1][4]
