Jimmy Kennedy (1902–1984) was an Irish songwriter and lyricist who wrote over 2,000 songs, including hits like 'Red Sails in the Sunset,' 'Harbor Lights,' 'My Prayer,' and 'Teddy Bears' Picnic.' Born in Omagh, Northern Ireland, he graduated from Trinity College Dublin, worked as a teacher and civil servant, and became one of the pre-eminent British lyricists of the mid-20th century, with his music achieving worldwide success.[1][2][3]
