Jim Frederick

James Durkin Frederick (1971–2014) was an American author and journalist, best known for his best-selling book *Black Hearts: One Platoon's Descent into Madness in Iraq's Triangle of Death* about the Mahmudiyah killings.[1] He worked as a contributing editor at *Time* magazine, previously serving as senior editor in London and Tokyo bureau chief, and co-authored *The Reluctant Communist* with Charles Robert Jenkins.[3][1] Frederick graduated from Columbia University in 1993 and held an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.[1][5]
