Jim Corbett
Edward James 'Jim' Corbett (1875-1955) was an Anglo-Indian hunter, tracker, author, and conservationist renowned for killing 19 man-eating tigers and 14 leopards in northern India, as chronicled in his bestselling book Man-Eaters of Kumaon (1944). Transitioning from hunter to advocate, he played a pivotal role in establishing India's first national park, later renamed Jim Corbett National Park in his honor. His works, including Jungle Lore and The Temple Tiger, blend thrilling hunt narratives with calls for wildlife preservation.
