Jill Murphy
Jill Murphy (1949-2021) was a British author and illustrator of children's books, best known for the Worst Witch series and the Large Family picture books, with millions of copies sold worldwide. Her works were adapted for stage and television, and she was praised as one of the most engaging writers and illustrators for children. She began publishing in 1974 after studying at Chelsea and Croydon Art Schools.
