Jerome V. Reel
Jerome V. Reel, Jr. was a prominent historian and long-time Professor of History at Clemson University, where he served as head of the History Department, Faculty Senate president, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and Senior Vice Provost.[1][3] A New Orleans native, he earned his BS and MA from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1960 and 1961, respectively, and his PhD in British medieval history from Emory University in 1967, later authoring numerous historical volumes including 'The Oak: A History of Pi Kappa Alpha'.[1][3][4] He received the South Carolina Humanities Council award for his contributions to humanities education and continued as Professor Emeritus and University Historian.[2]
