Jeremy Narby
Jeremy Narby is a Canadian anthropologist and author born in Montreal in 1959 who studied history at the University of Canterbury and earned a doctorate in anthropology from Stanford University.[4] He has spent decades working with indigenous Amazonian peoples, serving as director of Amazonian projects for the Swiss NGO Nouvelle Planète, while writing influential books that explore connections between shamanic knowledge, molecular biology, and indigenous understanding of nature.[2][4] His most notable work, The Cosmic Serpent: DNA and the Origins of Knowledge, examines how shamans access knowledge about the natural world through traditional practices and plant medicines.[9]
