Jennifer Worth
Jennifer Louise Worth (née Lee) was a British memoirist, nurse, and midwife who worked in London's East End during the 1950s, drawing on those experiences to write the bestselling trilogy Call the Midwife, Shadows of the Workhouse, and Farewell to The East End[1][4]. After leaving nursing in 1973, she re-trained as a musician and performed throughout Europe[1][2]. She died on May 31, 2011, at age 75 from esophageal cancer[1][5].
