Jennifer Beals

Jennifer Beals is an American actress born in Chicago, Illinois, who rose to stardom with her lead role as Alex Owens in the 1983 film Flashdance, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination and an NAACP Image Award. She has had a prolific career in both film and television, with notable roles in independent films and major productions alongside actors like Nicolas Cage and Denzel Washington, and is perhaps best known for her leading role as Bette Porter on the Showtime drama series The L Word (2004-2009), which she reprised in The L Word: Generation Q (2019).
