Jef Verschueren

Jef Verschueren is an emeritus professor of linguistics at the University of Antwerp in Belgium, born in 1952. He is renowned for his work in semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and discourse analysis, and is the founder and Secretary General of the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA). His notable publications include Understanding Pragmatics (1999) and Handbook of Pragmatics (1995).
